In this video, I compare my $50 Mesh Import from OBJ files for Revit addin to the native OBJ importer that was new in Revit 2022. It seems to me that my addin is better because one can apply a Revit Material to the import. The native method does have an advantage of perhaps being more robust for huge OBJs, but meshes that big may overload Revit and make it sluggish. Of course, native is included in Revit 2022, so there is no extra cost for it. Revit before version 2022 does not have a direct way of importing OBJ meshes.
